I’m Christy Sechrist, a singer-songwriter who started writing songs around 2004, alone in my bedroom with a cheap acoustic guitar and a tape recorder. I had no music lessons and was mostly fumbling through chords and singing my diary entries. People were kind enough to listen, and I took their encouragement as a reason to keep going.

Since then, I’ve spent a lot of time writing and creating music, including plenty that hasn’t seen the light of day. My projects have included symphonic metal with A Still Revolution and a Nightwish tribute called Wish Upon A Night. I’m currently working on a fusion/progressive metal project, Aeipathy Totalum, alongside the songs you’ll find here.

In 2027, it’ll be twenty years since I put out my first homemade “album”—a dozen rough songs I recorded myself, complete with artwork I made. For a long time, all I could hear in those recordings was how much I still had to learn. Now, I’m returning to a handful of those early songs, rewriting and re-recording them for an anniversary EP with a few new originals. There’s some nostalgia in it, but mostly I want to find out what those songs can become.
